The Calgary Mineral Exploration Group Society is a non-profit association incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta. The mandate of the Calgary MEG is to foster a recognition of the importance of mineral exploration and the development of mineral resources to the province of Alberta.
The Society endeavours to promote public understanding of the Earth Sciences and the business interests of its members. The society offers monthly lunchtime seminars relating to geology and mineral exploration in the province of Alberta, across Canada and around the world, and hosts the annual Calgary Mining Forum.

2012 Calgary MEG Annual Forum UpdateThe Calgary Mineral Exploration Group has organized an annual spring Mining Forum with short courses for the past 20 years. The attendance has gone down steadily for 5 years and this year we lost over $11,000 on our yearly operation. We have decided to move the Forum time to around the third week in October; a time of year when there are very few conferences competing with us. The Forum is run by a group of volunteers, most of whom having been doing it for 10 years or more. We want at least 5 new volunteers for the October 2012 Forum. These new volunteers will work with the existing committee to share some of the effort. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! If we do not get 5 new volunteers we will cancel the annual Forum and only continue with monthly lunch meetings and short courses. It is your Mining Forum and it will only continue if you help out.
